2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross vs 2018 Toyota C-HR near Leon Valley, TX

In 2018, both the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and the Toyota C-HR are all-new. These small crossover SUV's are probably in your top two if you have been looking for a mix of fun, capable, and easy to maneuver. The Eclipse Cross brings in a new clean-cut design for the Mitsubishi lineup, while the C-HR brings in a new vehicle size for the Toyota lineup, right below the RAV4. If you are having difficulties deciding between the two, read on to learn more about each vehicle's features, trim levels, and even their engine capabilities.

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Power & Handling

Under the hood of the Eclipse Cross is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine puts out an incredible capability of 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. With its front-wheel drive and exclusively offered super all-wheel control all-wheel-drive system, this SUV is able to tow up to 1,500 pounds! The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission that is capable of any tasks thrown its way.

2018 Toyota C-HR Power & Handling

If you look under the hood of the 2018 C-HR, you will find a 2-liter inline-4 engine. This engine sadly only puts out a meager 144 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. Not quite enough to allow for any towing capability. This engine is matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission with an only slightly capable manual mode and sport driving mode. The C-HR also only comes available in front-wheel drive.

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Features & Design

Multiple trim levels are available to choose from on the Eclipse Cross, including the ES, ES S-AWC, LE S-AWC, SE S-AWC, and the SEL S-AWC. Many entertainment, comfort, safety, and functional features are available for this model. Some of the big features would include emergency roadside assistance, a panoramic sunroof, a premium Rockford Fosgate nine-speaker stereo system, adaptive cruise control, cell phone control for the horn, lights, locks, settings, and even parental controls, voice controls, and heated front seats!

2018 Toyota C-HR Features & Design

The C-HR model is only available in either the XLE trim or the XLE Premium trim level. These trims include features like a cargo cover, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, height-adjustable front seats, foglights, and blind-spot monitoring. If you want additional features, you may be able to find them through the dealership, but there are no stand-alone factory options available.

Conclusions

With the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, you will find more trim options, better feature availabilities, and a stronger overall more capable engine. With the Toyota C-HR, you are just asking for the basics and an engine that may just not be up to par with a car fully loaded with passengers or cargo.
