What engine powers the Outlander Sport?

There are two different engines that you have the benefit of choosing between with the 2021 Outlander Sport. The very first thing we want to note is that front-wheel drive is standard, although both of these engines are also available with all-wheel drive if that suits your needs better. You'll also be getting a CVT automatic transmission, which is as smooth as it gets when it comes to a transmission. The base engine is a 2.0-liter inline-4, which can produce around 148 horsepower and up to 145 pound-feet of torque. The other engine, which comes with the GT trim, is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, which offers you 167 pound-feet of torque and around 168 horsepower. There is something for everyone within this SUV, which means you should absolutely be able to get the configuration you want.

How many trim options are there?

The Outlander Sport is not just a highly capable machine, it also features all of the technology that you could need to succeed and keep your passengers entertained. Some of the standard features, coming with the base trim, include heated mirrors, a seven-inch touchscreen display, heated front seats, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, LED lights, a rearview camera, automatic climate control a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, a 4-speaker audio system, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. When you move up to the SE trim, you'll be getting chrome side garnish, rain-sensing wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED fog lights, and power-folding body-color side mirrors. The last trim, GT, includes HomeLink, black roof rails, combination soft-touch seating materials, and black headliner and pillars.

What can I expect for safety?

While your first priority may not be to find out the safety features that you can get with this SUV, we are here to clear up any doubts either way. You'll be able to find active stability control, which monitors each vehicle for traction. Another huge benefit is having automatic high beams, which automatically adjust when oncoming traffic is detected. Finally, we want to mention forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection. This system monitors for traffic and pedestrians, especially if a collision is imminent. The system itself will even apply the brakes to try and avoid any collisions if you the driver have not.
