What to Keep in Your Vehicle in the Summer Months

School is out and the temperatures rising! It's time for fun in the sun this summer with the whole family. There are so many things to do and see so it's important to make sure that your vehicle is ready for whatever adventures you may find yourself embarking on! There are quite a few summer essentials that you should be keeping in your vehicle and we are going over each of the items that make every summer a breeze! Plus, we have compiled a great list of places to visit around San Antonio for the best summer yet!

Sunscreen and a Hat
Applying sunscreen before you leave the house is vital to keeping our skin protected from the sun's damaging rays. It's equally important to apply regularly when you are out and about so that your skin and your kiddo's skin stays protected all day. A hat helps keep the scalp protected and depending on the hat even your face and neck!

Sunglasses for the Whole Family
Our eyes, especially the baby blues, are very sensitive to sun exposure. If you are going to be driving or outside for long periods of time, it's important to keep them covered with sunglasses that protect against the sun's UV rays.

Window Shades
Keep your vehicle cooler in the summer with a windshield shade. This helps cut down on how long it takes for the vehicle to cool down and if you have leather seats, make sure that they are burning your legs when you or your kiddos sit down. There are also tons of other window shades on the market to make sure your kiddos in the rear seats are protected from the sun's heat and harsh rays.

Reusable Water Bottle
Staying hydrated is incredibly important, especially in the summertime! Having a reusable water bottle on hand for every person in the vehicle keeps everyone sipping on water throughout the day and stops the share of germs!

Cooler
Keep extra water and snacks, even juice boxes for those lower blood sugar moments, in a cooler for ease of access and healthy snacks when out on the go. Pack the cooler full of ice packs and it should stay cool all day and they are great if someone gets hurt and you need some ice to soothe the pain.

First Aid Kit
Speaking of injuries, it's important to have a first aid kit in the vehicle when out and about in case anyone falls and gets a few scrapes or cuts. Just some of the items to have include antiseptic ointment, bandaids, maybe even a lollipop or two to stop the tears! You can also throw in bug spray and an extra bottle of sunscreen so its always on hand.
